Investing in locally generated, renewable energy is becoming an increasingly popular way of individuals helping to increase the amount of clean energy generation. It’s also an ideal solution for those of us not so keen on having things such as solar panels on our own buildings.
It’s a win-win situation for communities. Not only is clean energy produced on their doorstep, they also reap the financial benefits to plough back into the community.
Using community generated funding, Freshford Village, 3 miles from BoA, installed a solar PV array in the field next to its village shop.
Bath and West Community Energy (BWCE) has installed a huge amount of solar PV on schools, farms and public buildings in the Bath area.
