We are researching the viability of a Shared Use E-Car Club. This project could have a very positive contribution in helping our community to Build Back Better in the wake of the pandemic. There are multiple benefits of such a scheme including Carbon Footprint Reduction; Reduction in Pollution – studies have shown each shared use car removes between seven and fifteen private vehicles from the road; and Saving Money – if you don’t need a car to commute to work every day, then joining a car club can work out much cheaper than owning your own car. The average car in the UK costs c.£3000 a year and is used less than 5% of the time.
Groups who might benefit include families and couples looking for an alternative to keeping on a second car, or retired people who still have a car, but don’t use it much. For many people it could avoid all the hassle of owning and maintaining a car. If you want to express interest or have any questions or comments please contact Tim Trimble here
