June 2020 update

There is a new movement of people swapping cars and public transport for active journeys to keep themselves and those around them safe and well called ‘Stride and Ride’ courtesy of ‘We Are Possible’. Find out more and sign-up here. And with pavements not wide enough to allow safe social distancing, local councils have been given the authority to rethink road space. Living Streets are asking people to email local councillors and urge them to create more space for walking and cycling. It’s not too late if you haven’t emailed yet. It may be a temporary measure for councils, but it could help us all reimagine our roads. Finally, this request: If we are to ‘build back better’ improved train services should play a big part. The West Wiltshire Rail Users Group do a great job campaigning on local services but are in need of new members to ensure their campaigning can continue. For more information, see their website
