Community involvement group

If we're going to solve the challenges of climate change we need to involve everyone and encourage them all to play their part in some way.

To do this we are working in a variety of ways with local councils, schools, businesses, churches and other community organisations.

We set up the Climate Friendly Bradford on Avon stall at a wide variety of events. This may be a local street market, summer fair, or school event, in the villages as well in town.

We work with other groups such as at the Fair Planet festival and have shared a stall on different aspects of food production with Oxfam and the Fairtrade group at one of the monthly Sunday Farmers' Markets.

Our changeable display boards are used to good effect to inform and engage people.

We help celebrate national events such as Earth Hour and those organised by  and are planning our second Eco Trade Fair on Saturday 16th. March 2013.

We have played a big part in three Bradford on Avon Arts Festivals in town with 'Polar Meltdown', 'Hippos and Hosepipes' (a giant game to encourage water conservation) and a 'wishing tree'.  Also, an exhibition of climate change poetry resulted in publishing a small book of writing on climate change by local authors.  Titled "The Changing Seasons" it is available for purchase at the Tourist Information Centre, Ex Libris and Made in Bradford on Avon.

At all these events, our Carbon Neutral 2050 Declaration is available for people to sign and people can also sign up to receive our regular e-mail newsletter and become a paid-up member of the CFB Community Interest Company.

We always welcome help on these stalls, and requests are made in the newsletter and on this website.
