Community involvement group

If we're going to solve the challenges of climate change we need to involve everyone and encourage them all to play their part in some way.

To do this we are working in a variety of ways with local councils, schools, businesses, churches and other community organisations.

Campaigning is really important as it's the main way of influencing policy at local and national level.  MPs and ministers are frequently contacted by grass roots climate change groups and this does have an impact.  Even though we know our local MP is supportive of our activities, it is important to keep reminding him about the issues that concern us, to keep him on his toes!

CFB is a member of Stop Climate Chaos and has been actively engaged in campaigning on national and international issues, often with other groups in the constituency.

We have organised events around the international climate change summits and the general and EU elections and have visited our MP to discuss a number of climate change issues.

We have also lobbied local councillors, regularly raise issues with the BoA Town Council and are an active member of the Wiltshire Clean Energy Alliance.
